Just think what would happen if Christ had not risen. In 1 Corinthians 15, the Apostle Paul described the horrible consequences if Christ did not rise again from the dead. And then he concluded by writing that if we have hope in Christ only in this life, we are of all men most miserable. That means we should be pitied. Why? Because it is not easy being a Christian, and a Christian is living for another world. If there is no resurrection and if Christ did not rise from the dead, then we have believed a lie and we have committed our soul to a dead man. Our hope of heaven is a false hope and this life is all there is, if Jesus did not rise again. But the fact is that HE IS ALIVE! And that makes all the difference. I hope you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. If not, you can receive Him by turning from your sins and trusting Him to forgive your sins and save your soul. He promises to save you, but only if you truly repent (turn from sin) and trust Him. God bless you as you worship and serve our risen Lord each day.::::Pastor Stan

Obedience is better than sacrifice (1 Samuel 15:22). That is the lesson that Saul learned, but he learned it the hard way--by experience. It has been said that experience is the best teacher. That may be true, but the tuition is high. We need to learn from Saul's mistake and Samuel's rebuke as recorded in 1 Sam. 15. Sacrifice was never meant to be a substitute for an obedient life. Dear Lord, help us to obey you with a willing heart.::::Pastor Stan

I'm still basking in the glow of Father's Day. I am very blessed to have three precious children, all who love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ. When I think about God's blessings in my life, and they are many, I would make my list as follows:::1. My relatioship with Christ::2. My wife and soul mate, Nancy::3. My precious children, Sarah, Mary, and David::::I have many more people and things on the list, but those are always my top three. Every good gift and every perfect gift comes from above, from our Heavenly Father. ::::I praise my Father for allowing me to be an earthly fahter to my precioua ones.

Today we are expecting a visit from our President Barack Obama. Preparations have been made with great attention to detail, as you would expect. It is an honor to have a sitting President to visit your hometown, and we welcome our President to Bristol. I just wonder why so many ignore the fact that Jesus Christ is coming back to this world and so few seem to care. We ought to prepare for His return soon. Even so come Lord Jesus!

Why is Christian doctrine so important? Here are some reasons:::1) Our beliefs determine our behavior. Our character and conduct rise out of our convictions.::2) The Bible was given by God to teach us doctrine (2 Tim. 3:16).::3) The early church in the Book of Acts was committed to teaching and learning Christian doctrine (Acts 2:41; 5:28).::4) The apostle Paul taught the essentials of Christian doctrine (Acts 20:27).::5) All pastors are responsible for teaching doctrine and making this a priority of ministry (1 Tim. 4:13-17).
